The United States Army Mission Command awarded a multi-million dollar contract to Systematic Inc. for its SitaWare information technology (IT) command and control system solution, the company said on Friday.
SitaWare is a Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Command, Control, Computer, Communication, and Intelligence (C4I) product suite that provides situational awareness of blue and red (allied and enemy) data at all levels of command. The separate products in the suite are designed for the issues of commanders are headquarters, mounted, and dismounted areas to provide “unrivaled” tactical data communication, the company said.
Systematic also said it provides these capabilities quickly and make interoperability with international allies easier.
“SitaWare meets most of the Army’s C4I requirements straight out-of-the-box,” Systematic president Rafael Torres, said in a statement.
He also highlighted the system has an open architecture to support integration with legacy and third party systems as well as built-in support for international information exchange standards. This provides “unmatched interoperability with international allies and intra-operability between U.S. forces,” Torres added.
Systematic will now also work with Army Mission Command and industry partners to develop a common framework to enhance interoperability between the U.S. and allied partners, the company said.
“With this award, SitaWare will become a key component of the Army Common Operating Environment,” Torres said.
SitaWare was chosen as the architecture framework for the Command Post Computing Environment. This allows for immediate third party development of integrated Command Post, Mounted and Dismounted tactical computing capabilities, Systematic said.
The contract award value was not released.
