Safran Group’s Morpho group says that the FBI has certified the company’s MorphoWave contactless desktop fingerprint scanner for meeting the Personal Identity Verification Image Quality Specifications Standard. MorphoWave acquires four fingerprints in less than a second by a wave of the hand over the device from either direction. Morpho says that the United Arab Emirates recently took delivery of nearly 100 units for a multi-biometric border control program.
Aruba Airport Expanding Use of Automated Border Control eGates
Queen Beatrix International Airport in Aruba is expanding its use of automated border control eGates for arrivals and departures supplied by electronic identity solutions provider Vision-Box. Nearly a year ago Vision-Box deployed to the airport its Aruba Happy Flow pilot project, enabling 100 percent self-service passenger flow, processing travelers from 28 different countries with decreased waiting times. Vision-Box says that the upgrade means that an enhancement of security levels as they Aruba Immigrations Services will be relying on secure and robust common-use biometric passenger touch-points and a software suite integrating the entire infrastructure and monitoring all passenger operations. When integrated with IASA’s system, the entire management platform allows operating officers to monitor all automated border control eGates through a smart phone, supervision all operations and passenger processing status, biometric captures, identification document security features and authentication response, results of background checks, and Visa status, among other possibilities.
