Morpho Partners With IntegenX on Rapid DNA Identification Technology
Safran Group’s Morpho says it has partnered with
IntegenX to market the company’s RapidHIT DNA identification system to law enforcement and government agencies in select countries globally. Morpho currently provides biometric-based criminal identifications solutions to law enforcement and government agencies worldwide and said it will leverage this market position to offer RapidHIT. The desktop DNA identification system is fully automated and generates DNA profiles from reference samples and can be used in laboratories, police stations or at crime scenes. “Our customers around the world look to us for the most innovative and efficient criminal investigation solutions,” says Philippe Petitcolin, chairman and CEO of Morpho. “We are proud to collaborate with IntegenX to introduce rapid DNA identification to speed up crime solving in the field.” A spokeswoman for MorphoTrak, the division of Morpho that will be selling RapidHIT, tells HSR that the system will be sold in the state and local law enforcement market in the U.S where “we have strong customer connections.”
Raytheon Upgrades SureView Insider Threat and Privileged User Abuse
Raytheon [RTN] has released an enhanced version of its SureView insider threat and privileged user abuse detection to include new policy support features that enhance product capability for continuous monitoring and network auditing. The company says that the new capabilities allow commercial and federal organizations that use SureView to detect malicious acts and policy violations by privileged users. Additional new features of SureView include host-based network traffic monitoring and collection, simplified policy creation, new collection capability, and enterprise application suite enhancement.
Parsons Acquires Cyber, Electronic Security Firm Secure Mission Solutions
Expanding its national security and defense work, engineering, construction and professional services company Parsons Corp. has acquired Secure Mission Solutions (SMS), which provides cyber and electronic security solutions to federal customers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Northern Virginia-based SMS had $106 million in sales last year and has over 550 employees. SMS has domain expertise in virtualization and cloud computing, satellite communications, data center consolidation, identity management, critical infrastructure protection, high performance computing, network operations center and security operations center operations and management, and information assurance. The company’s customers include the intelligence community, Cyber Command, the military services, the Departments of State, Interior and Homeland Security, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, and Military Health Systems. “This acquisition is another important step toward meeting our strategic goal of expanding our national security and defense business, and it strengthens our offerings to new and existing customer for their most vital missions,” says Chuck Harrington, Parsons’ chairman and CEO.
