The U.S. Air Force awarded Technica Corp. a nearly $8 million task order from the previously awarded Network-Centric Solutions-2 contract for operations and security sustainment services, the Department of Defense (DoD) said on Wednesday.
Technica is set to provide technology services to manage and sustain current operations, and evolve the Air Force Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System Enterprise into a secure, robust, and regionalized network to support various national and global Air Force missions, DoD said.
The department highlighted that the service’s partnership with Technica provides the Air Force Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System Enterprise the ability to meet full operational capability on schedule, optimize project management of information technology requirements, and to mature the Air Force Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System Enterprise.
Fiscal 2017 Air Force operations and maintenance (O&M) funds of the full award amount were obligated at award time. The task order is the reulst of a small business, set-aside acquisition with six offers received, DoD said.
Work will occur at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. It is expected to be complete by Jan. 28, 2018.
