Teledyne Technologies, Inc., [TDY] yesterday said it has acquired Optimum Optical Systems, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of custom optics and optomechanical assemblies used in tactical military imaging systems.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Teledyne said that Optimum Optical’s lens and optomechanical systems are positioned between the focal plane array, detector subsystem, camera products and the complete inertially-stablized gimbal systems currently made by various of Teledyne business units.
“The acquisition of Optimum Optical further expands Teledyne’s capabilities and product offerings in tactical infrared imaging systems,” Robert Mehrabian, chairman, president and CEO of Teledyne, said in a statement.
Optimum Optical is based in California and has about 25 employees.
