Tri-S Security Corp. [TRIS] says its Paragon Systems subsidiary has received a five-year, $56 million contract from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to provide security services for federal government facilities throughout the Washington, D.C. area, Maryland and Northern Virginia. The contract will begin on June 1 and Tri-S says it will be worth $11.2 million annually during the five-year period. Paragon will provide over 180 armed and unarmed officers at three main sites: Department of Education; International Trade Commission; Food and Drug Administration and Department of Agriculture. Security will also be provided for various offices of the FBI and Drug Enforcement Administration.
