The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) awarded a $28.5 million contract to Texas-based Vic Thompson Company for the design, build-out, baggage handling system (BHS) maintenance and support of its Systems Integration Facility. The TSA Systems Integration Facility (TSIF), which is slated to open late this summer, will give the agency the ability to test new, emerging and upgraded technologies, how to fuse different sensor systems at checkpoints, and improve the efficiency of its screener workforce. The TSIF will be located at Reagan National Airport in Arlington, Va. Vic Thompson Company, a small, veteran-owned business, provides a range of construction services for airport terminals, including renovations, BHS/Explosive Detection System design and integration, engineering services and more.
