Accenture [ACN] and CPS Human Resource Services have each received new contract extensions valued at up to $37 million and $73 million respectively from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to ensure continuity of human resources services during an on-going competition for a new contract for these services. CPS’ extension has a six-month base period and a two-month option period. Accenture’s extension has a four-month base period and a two-and-a-half month option. Last October TSA had awarded CPS a potential $58 million extension and Accenture a potential $48 million extension to their ongoing contracts (TR2, Oct. 31, 2007). TSA had been expected to award a new contract last July under the Integrated Hiring Options and Personnel Program.
