The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for Electronic Metal Detection (EMD) Devices for use in the aviation cargo environment. The goal is to provide TSA with access to a variety of efficient and effective cargo screening technologies and systems for evaluation. TSA wants the devices to detect metallic-based explosive components such as blasting caps and wires within a variety of organic commodities at the cargo piece, parcel and pallet level.
