Ultra Defense Corp. (UDC) on Thursday said it has acquired MAST Technology, a manufacturer of a military ammunition, giving the company a domestic manufacturing capability.
Terms of the deal between the two small companies were not disclosed. UDC, which is based in Florida, said that Warrensburg, Mo.-based MAST has annual sales exceeding $10 million. The two companies combined have about 50 employees.
UDC provides defense logistics services, Russian military aircraft and the Northrop Grumman
[NOC]-built F-5 fighter trainer, munitions, and aeronautic support services.
MAST manufactures small caliber ammunition, less-lethal and tracer rounds, practice rounds for grenade launchers, and spotting cartridges.
MAST will operate as UDC-MAST in Missouri and will continue to load, assemble and pack various munitions and other products. UDC said that “A significant physical expansion of the Warrensburg operations is planned in the coming months.”
“This is the first step of many towards accomplishing our goal of becoming a key supplier of next-generation overmatch capability to the U.S. warfighter supporting the National Defense Strategy and great power competition,” Matthew Herring, CEO of UDC, said in a statement.
UDC’s financial adviser on the deal was AZL Capital.
